There is a new game in the works. I wish I could tell more about it, but I can’t. However I do own the images and have the rights to put them here on my blog. Thanks to Lee Moyer I was asked to do all 90 illustrations for the cards, with a very small budget, and very limited time it was an exercise in self restraint.

The above image is one of the land cards. The odd shapes in the lower left and right are the outlines of the card elements that I kept ghosted in to remind myself not to put too much detail near them.

A Steam Punk Buzz Saw, one of the many weapons and add on cards in the game. I think this is the first one I did.

Clockwork claws, another of the add on weapons and tools for the game.

This last one is the Vril Death Ray. I have no idea what a Vril is, but they evidently have a death ray…
For the most part I would redo nearly all 90 of the illustrations. Between the day they were done and today I have learned a tremendous amount about the creative design process, from imagination versus my old reliance on reference for everything.
in fact, this particular project was one of the reasons I started the nightly sketch sessions in earnest. By the end of the 90 illustrations I had come up with many tricks to speed up the process, thankfully, but I was not good at it.
