I like to consider myself an artist, inventor, entrepreneur and online guru. I have several other blogs to focus on each part of my life. For example at Success U I host a podcast about online marketing, new media and business success. But that is not the point of this blog. Here I document my development as an artist.

If I create it, you will see it on this site. My sketchbook is here, my mistakes and my happy accidents.With any luck you will also see my triumphs. I have as much to learn as any other developing artist and am fond of receiving constructive feedback. I often find a new set of eyes can help me grasp the issue I have become too close to see fully. It is also my hope to share what I have learned in the 30-ish years I have been painting and drawing. I am currently developing a series of video podcasts for a couple of paintings I am working on.

So who are my influences? I am so happy you asked. I happen to enjoy many of the 17th century Dutch artists such as Vermeer. I love art Nouveau and especially the paintings by Gustav Klimt. Monet and the impressionists have heavily influenced my traditional paintings.  But when it really comes down to it the most influencial artists for me have been the illustrators; Parrish, Kaluta, Brom, Shoenherr, Leyendecker, Syd Mead, Lee Moyer, Giger, Marta Dahlig, Brian Froud, JP Targete, Adam Hughes and the cartoonist Bill Waterson and Berke Breathed… Phew, what a list.
